It was cool, about 8 skaters, no goalies showed up. They had 3 nets out, and plenty of pucks. Rules? Full gear, sign a waiver, pay $15 upstairs. I don't know about slap shots...

Cool, I'll try to sign up for an afternoon friday stick time, if they have one.

    I recommend wearing the mask.

A friend skated up to me at stick time and fell just as he got to me. He hit his mask/face right on my hockey stick, could have been nasty if he wasn't wearing the mask.

Also, I was at a stick time at Culver City where some young bucks were doing some half rink scrimmage, over the course of the stick time I saw two of them putting ice packs on their faces after being injured.
So I always wear the facemask at stick time.

What days do you usually go for stick times? It's cool to do stick times by yourself, but I find it more fun and more of a learning experience when skating with other people. I went to stick time today at Valley Ice Center in Panorama City and I was by myself for a good 1 hour until a goalie showed up. He helped me with my slapshot form and braking exercises. So if it wasn't for him I think I'd still be practicing incorrect form and technique. Maybe we can help each other out some time.
