    Default Cheap Hockey Gear Help?

A friend of mine has recently been coming to my roller hockey games and taken up a great interest in the sport.

However, he really doesn't have the money to get a full suit-up in any nearby hockey gear stores. Anyone know of a place where someone can piece it all together for cheaper?

    Thanks in advance.

how big is this guy, I've got a lot of used gear I could get rid of. I used to keep another set + more for people who wanted to try it with me, don't really need it now, since I havent even played in over five years.

I'd let it go pretty cheap.

I would avoid Craigslist. I WAS in the market for used hockey gear...but after driving all over the place to buy some....I realized that
    1) The gear is nasty dirty
    2) It never fits the way YOU want it too
    3) It would have been a lot less work to go to a store and buy some cheaper, new stuff.

You can get burned at play it again, you really need to know something about prices before bargain hunting.

and as far as getting exactly what you want, and fit, when you start out, you don't know, so you get some **** that works and replace piece by pieca as you see fit.

    IMO

just buy new, but cheap stuff. Go to hockeygiant or something and buy stuff made by Gear, its cheap, new and works so just buy that stuff. In general most new stuff will be around 30 bucks, except skates, helmet and a stick. So it wont cost much and it isnt covered in mold, sweat and is all crusty

I suggested PIAS because you can go there and try stuff on, its usually clean, and most stores have return policies if you don't like the stuff or it doesn't fit when you get home. But I've bought stuff from other players or craigslist and been ok too. Just depends on what you're looking for and what the other person has for sale.

He's a decent sized guy. I would guess probably in the 6'0-2 range and probably inching towards 180 or so?

Thanks for the help. Any more would be great, he's really interested in coming out to play.

...and unfortunately, I do not know Riley Mason. :D
