Combo shield (visor/cage) $39 - GET ONE!!!

Boulder Hockey Shield Company

Used it for the first time this morning. No fog whatsoever. Its basically a cage with a glass shield across the vision area. Pretty much like the very popular Oakley and Itech models which as far as I know they are no longer making.

I used to use full visor but that fogged like a mother****er, then i went back to cage, which I hate...I don't like the grid across my view and no matter how much I use it I never fully get used to it. I thought about a half shield but I'm reminded every game why that wouldn't work for me.

This thing is perfect. I'm sure you can find the Oakley version online (ebay and such) but that was $80+, the Itech is $65+. For $40, I think its just as good and the guy who sells them actually sends you an email and asks for feedback, almost like, he actually cares about his product and how people feel about it...imagine that?!

I had full vision of a shield, airflow of a cage, no fog, and I could see the puck at my feet etc. It was only a sticktime but I can't wait until monday to give it a whirl during a league game.

Let us know how it works during a game. I'm definitely interested.

I've seen those around for a long time but never tried it.

Know if it'll work on a XL Bauer 4500?

I'm sure my family would have rather had me buy one of these for my 18AAA season, instead of the Oakley avatior shield and the 12 stitches it came with. Haha.

Emailed them, they said it'd work on my helmet. Let us know how it works in game, I'm very interested. Been wanting to try a shield or nothing at all, but I don't need to get any uglier playing pickup or beer league!

Yeah I think it'll work on any helmet, you might have to get a different 'brackets' (for lack of a more technical term for the little things on the side of your helmet that the shield/cages slide into when you close them). The one's I had on my CCM V4 helmet are a bit to slim, I have to force the shield into them, but I know wider one's exsist so I'm gonna pick some of those up for a better fit.

A long time ago, I used to have a CCM version of this. For whatever reason, the visor part would still get fog. Rubbing a thin film of shampoo on the inside & buffing it clear always kept the fog away. I went to a full cage because I was never careful enough to keep it from getting scratched up in my bag, and I need to protect my million dollar good looks...

So ElFuego. how did it work in league play ?

I did a morning skate today at stick time and a bit of a scrimmage broke out....it did fog a little but it was very light and only along the area right above the caged/mouth area. Certainly bearable and way better than any other shield I've used. The halfies still fog up even, and this one has more protection than those but the same vision.

I was mistaken on my schedule but my game is tonight. I will report in afterwards. I'm interested to see if it fogs up any more than than it did this morning after a more high intensity skate.
