Thread: Coors Cup Tourney, Labor Day Weekend

So Wendy just told me about the GLBT thing. Apparently it's sponsored or something by them. If that's a problem, don't sign up. I'll put it on the original post, didn't realize it, heh.

It is? When I saw the word Coors, I thought it was a Beer league Tourney.

I'm playing on another team and have played b4. It is the best bang for the buck. Lots of fun. Four games, party w/ food and drink(?), raffles, MVP gifts, etc.

I'm assuming you guys would need a Bear... god if only I had the cash.

Still need more people, and quick. The lady is kinda waiting for our response, and if another team forms first, we're out. Money would need to be in when we know we have a team, which would be when we have 10 players to skate out.

Some people have had questions about the tourney so let me see if I can answer some of the main ones. The tourney will be epic! The hosting team is the LA BLADES! They are one of the 6 teams playing in the tourney and they KICKS ASS!!! So it's sure to be a fun and competitive tourney.

Established in 1985, the LA Blades are the first openly Gay and Lesbian ice hockey team in the United States.

Their ice hockey club members are made up of diverse group of individuals from all walks of life, which include gay, lesbian, straight, and married couples AS WELL AS beginners, novice and intermediate players. You may have heard of them or seen them play in Lakewood, TSC and also after Kings Games at Staples.

They are awesome for putting this tournament together, especially if you know what all goes into putting together even the simplest of pick-up games.

The 4 other teams playing have some of our fellow LGK'ers and Friends playing. Ask around, this seems to be an awesome tournament with kickass prizes and perks.

You DO NOT need to be GLTB to play. The other 4 teams consist of straight, gay, married, single, guys and gals - It's like any other tournament.

WHO'S IN? RinkRat has given us permission to call the team "LGK" and you all know that does not happen every day!

Please let us know ASAP (today) if you are in - they are holding the spot for us and we'd be the final team in the tourney.

PLAYER INFO:

- $130 per player
*Your registration fee includes: 4 guaranteed games in the tourney, Gift Bag with many goodies from sponsors inside, including a t-shirt., Dinner with the team at Mr. Pockets in Manhattan Beach, A Raffle Ticket to an awesome raffle the tourney will be hosting as well as additional invitations to bar parties and a BBQ pool party. You are not obligated to go to any of the events but are invited by the hosting team.
- Helmet and at least a half shield are required.
- Light and Dark jersey needed (So far none of the other teams are wearing the Kings home or away jersey’s so this could be a good option for the team)
- The tourney spans from Friday evening through Monday (Labor Day)
