Core training for hockey?
I've been taking skating lessons at the local rink, and am making slow but steady progress. It occurs to me that I'd do better at skating if my core strength were better (been riding a desk for too many years). A lot of the movements (e.g. switching from forward to backward) call for a rotation of the body that my bloated torso doesn't seem to want to do.
Sooooo, any recommendations for good hockey-specific core exercises? Or are we just talking the usual crunches, side bends and twists?
