From most pickups I have played in, shoulder pads have been the only option for players.

I agree with most of this.

However, I'm gonna assume most people who like playing are somewhat competitive (i know I am). While the score certainly isn't the most important thing here, a blowout sucks, for both sides.

it's less fun to win 10-1, no fun losing 10-1,. I'd like to see tweaking, as we've always done, if it looks like it'll be that way.

Knowing the core is important, because we can move them (Muddy, Anon, etc) if needed.


In the past, we've divided up these guys, then drew sticks. Lately we've been picking sticks then switching in the locker room if we found the teams to be too lopsided (or if someone is offered vodka and they're a dirty, dirty traitor), which is pretty much the same thing.
We tweak as needed, during the game, and a good time is had by all. Perfect, no. But it works.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree 100% with this.

While im not going to be upset about a lopsided team, it obviously is more fun to have the teams as even and competitive as possible.

The tweaking system works pretty well, but im pretty sure this time around we SHOULD be able to get things close off the bat.

Its looking like I will not be able to make it tomorrow...unfortunatley the little lady and I are going through some rough waters and I am taking her out of town for tonight and tomorrow...
