Again guys, im sorry about the backing out, my manager really ****ed me on that one.

I for one, would be all for the pre-paying on pay-pal as Hockeygirl suggested, if I say im going to make it then im willing to pre pay, and then if something comes up for me last minute its my loss and not you guys. It would make the no-shows a non-problem. I love the extra ice time.

As far of the evening out of the teams, I still say we pick the "known" goal-scorers apart into two teams, then draw sticks for the rest of the "unknowns".

It wouldn't be perfect, but I could see it making things a lot more equal to begin with, and it would lower the amount of tweaking needed or completely omit the need to "trade" players mid game.

Just my two cents on the whole subject.

The tweaking on the fly didn't work at all... Obviously, it was still tremendously stacked in the white team's favor and I spent the entire game chasing down people who were 500 times better than me. We (the dark team) had to have spent at least 75% of the game in our defensive zone. No amount of tweaking on the benches could have brought the teams close to an equal level, it was just too far off-kilter to begin with.

Now again, all that being said, I still had a blast and I even managed to get one in the net. A couple of shifts I was happy with some defensive plays I made, I made some decent passes, and I confirmed that I still can't skate for ****.

So, does anything need to be changed? No, not really, but there is room for improvement. Clearly, people don't like the self-rating system, and a system where one or a handful of people rate everyone would be a train wreck... so I don't know.

When's the next game?

Next time I play, just put all of the solid skaters on one team with me on that team. I am such an anchor and slow skater it will even out the teams

I like that idea, we'll just have to count on new players to let us know if they're superstars.

Why Don't we just randomly select captains and have a "Draft" on the board here before every game. we can make sure the captains feel comfortable picking so that they know who they are picking from. the teams should end up pretty fair. As long as the captain has played a couple times they should be able to pick.
