Any good tips for faceoffs?

a couple of things.
hook the other player's stick and lift it, then kick the puck back with your skate.
pay close attention to the ref/linesmen when they drop the puck. a lot of them have a "tell" that will let you know when they're about to drop it.
another one is to spin and block the puck with your skate. then you can try to pass it out or kick it to a teammate while you're fighting with other guy.
or just take the guy out. they can't win if they're on their ass :P
Keep your eyes on the puck not the dot, the second he lets go pull back/push forward. Get down low. If you think you are gonna lose, tie up your opponents stick and or body.
I was taught to watch the hands of the ref holding the puck and try to look for the movement of his hand muscles - trigger your movemet on that.
Have some very strong hands.
all very good suggestions. I remember Belanger say he used a very stiff stick and that's why he won a majority of the faceoffs.
