Just wondering if any of you have fractured your patella and how long it took to get back to skating.
I hurt my right knee Wed the 8th and had x-rays yesterday. X-rays show 3 small fractures on the kneecap.

I remember fracturing my patella in the 8th grade. I recall it taking about 6 weeks to get back to doing anything.

If your older 6-8 weeks maybe, younger might be 4-6 weeks, wasn't skating when I did mine but was easily 6 weeks.
Thanks for the info. Had a recheck with the doc today and while it is clear that there has been a lot of healing, it will be at least 2-4 more weeks until I am able to play again.
I was really hoping to be OK for the Hockeymoon n Vegas thing and am super bummed that it ain't gonna happen!
Let us know how it turns out. Ouch. 7 weeks...
The knee works! I was afraid to cut suddenly and played mostly a north-south game but it held up nicely.
In all of this I found 2 products that I love using.
The first is KT Tape www.kttape.com . This stuff is awesome, it provided just the right support.
The second is a prescription anti-inflammatory patch Welcome to FlectorPatch.com . This stuff worked really well for me.
Glad you're back at it and things are healed up!
Have you ever guessed somebody's gender wrong? There's no recovering from that. You just gotta move on, cause you ain't wriggling outta nothin'.
"Hey, excuse me, sir?"
"Maam."
"Okay." "Okay, bye... bye, human. Bye person. Nice to meet you, individual."
