An Open Letter to Hockey Players,
A certain rink manager recently notified us of the incredible number of goals being scored with the new VAPOR X:60 stick at his arena (see below for his email). We thought it only fair to forward his email so that you'll understand what your local rink manager may be going through. He even has his own Facebook page if you'd like to take a look:

That said, we understand that the VAPOR X:60 stick is making things difficult for rink managers, maintenance people and anyone who has to keep changing goal lights. However, it is our duty to continue making the world's best equipment, so you can elevate your game. We encourage you to keep scoring and helping your team win.

BAUER People,
Now, I know it's your job to make good equipment for the young ice hockey fellers, but this new VAPOR X:60 stick of yours is pushing my buttons. I've gone through three cases of red lights this month. It's ridiculous and a pain. You don't replace red lights just like that, either. You have to grab a ladder and a screwdriver and crank that casing off of it every single time. Not to mention the horn going off every waking hour I'm at the rink! I get no peace nowadays. I've ruined a dozen work shirts, screwed up my latest painting and broken my ice-resurfacing model.

I haven't tried this particular composite but I tried one and didn't like it. It didn't have the feel of my trusty wood stick. Sure it was lighter but...

Slightly funny.

To bad majority of all mens and womens rec leagues don't use those lights.

I bought some different composite sticks (TPS Mission Vapor) and didnt like them at first. I kept using my wood sticks, but now all my Sher-Woods, Northlands, etc. are all broken. I decided to just keep practicing with the vapor to try and get used to it. After a couple of stick times and pickup games I'm getting used to it and starting to like it. I like the lightness. I think it was the difference in the shot release point that I have adjusted, that took some practice. The puck comes off of the composite stick quicker.

I know. I am having trouble finding my wood sticks in stock. Seems like they aren't even trying to bother to make them anymore. I just don't feel right spending more than $20 on any stick.

I have gone back and forth from wood, full composite to shaft. The woods and full composites just don't last long enough as a mucker grinder. So I am back to a shaft w/ a wood blade for now.

No company makes a wood stick for my height. I'm not good enough to know the difference between composite or wood anyway.
