DISCOUNTHOCKEY.COM / Encore Sports in Woodland Hills is by far the best place to get hockey gear. Not only do they carry almost every thing, but their prices are super cheap and they're the only hockey shop anywhere near the LA area.

Well, no. The award goes to Hockey Hawk. Unfortunately for us Kings fans, it is located deep in the heart of the O.C., but fortunately it is worth the drive if you are within 40 miles of the store.
From what I've seen in Discount Hockey, they don't stock ****. They advertise stuff that they don't even have...what's the point?

I'd rate it:
1. Hockey Hawk
2. Cyclone Taylor (located in BC, Canada. Nicest guys in the world. Met them while on travelling team. If you want to go with a small West Coast shop that you can trust, there's no beating them. You will get your stuff!)
3. Hockey Giant (no comparison to #1 & #2)
4. Inline Warehouse
5. Hockey Outlet

Ummm... I've been ordering from IW and all their items come from San Luis Obispo, CA. If I order on a Monday, I'll have the items at my door step on Wednesday.

I second the emotion. I went in for a stick and left with a "ringer" for my hockey team. The guy has smack and he backs it up with game. At 4:20 he's the first one going to the fridge to get the bong. Far and away my favorite hockey shop...at least west of Gunzo's in Chicago. I can't imagine going anywhere else. Long Live Discount Hockey!!! RJ - you the man.

I'll add my .02 to the "Hockey Giant Sucks" thread:

They cannot keep ABS blades in stock. The last 4 or 5 times I've been there, I'll ask for ABS replacement blades, and the last time the bright sales guy said: "well, we got about 12 in last week, but a guy bought every one of them." I said "well, shouldn't that tell you that you should order more in each order." bright sales guy: shrugs shoulders.

Then I went to Hockey Monkey/Hawk Hockey 5 miles down the fwy: they had dozens of ABS blades to choose from.

I'm not going to waste my time w/ HG anymore.
