Default How do you know if you shoot right or left?

    Hey guys,

I went to Sports Authority today to get a hockey stick but decided to hold it until I'm sure I shoot left.

So I am right handed but the first time I touched a hockey stick, I felt more comfortable shooting left.

Plus, for extra info, very recently my chiropractor told me I was actually born left handed but developed to become a right hander.

So how do you decide? I'm sure strength has a lot to do with it but I can't really shoot the puck to test that at the Sports Authority lol.

I THINK I'm more comfortable shooting and handling the puck left handed but a bit more stronger right handed.

Any suggestions, comments would be very appreciated!!

P.S. where is the best place to buy a street hockey stick? preferably in O.C. but I wouldn't mind traveling to L.A.

    Thanks guys!!

There is a bit of a debate about this but usually your strong hand is on top. In the US many shoot the way they bat (right), in Canada most shoot left cuz more people are right handed (Right hand on top). You can also try sweeping to see which is more natural (although this is not accepted by all).

I second this. Growing up playing street hockey I was a lefty, but after I got older righty just feels more natural.

Imagine somebody that you really hate. Then imagine giving them one clean punch to the throat. That hand should be on top of your stick.

Sports Authority or Chalet will be fine for a street hockey stick.

If you live near either of these places they are good too but no need to road trip for one stick.
