Thread: How many of you have ever actually played ice hockey?

I played at Bay Harbor almost every Friday and Saturday night, at midnight after the date night crowd left. We did a little traveling and played the Swede's from the Santa Monica rink. Bo Swenson was part of the team. He had a Swedish Airline that sponsered his team with full uni's and gear. We all had completely different equipment, but we beat the dog**** out of them everytime we played them. Great fun. Played almost 17 years total, and coached in the 70's at Bay Harbor also. Frankie Salsido and Bernie Arcand used to play with us. Pride was what drove us.

I don't know if you can consider what i do the ice "playing", which mostly consists of skating around aimlessly and occasionally boarding Lappy!

When I'm in a slump I put myself in the press box.

Lol it probably is...poor guy was scouting for a last minute savior or two...

Wish I had seen this earlier...I'm pretty sure my entire team could beat the Kings right now. We'd play for a lot less than they do, and if we were losing 8-2 to the Wings we would at least start wrecking people left and right.

And yeah. I play. Horribly, but I play. My whole hockey career has been a slump. Its fun as hell though.

didn't we do that at the tournament? and i think we were ahead!

Yeah but that other team was running our goalie and trying to take out swisschz. I think they were anti-Asian. Let that be a lesson to everyone. Don't run a goalie. Especially one that can kick the crap out of you.

weren't they a team of immigrants too? shouldn't all the people of color come together and fight oppression together? pale people like fishmonger?

The only reason I play is to run Lappy and servicemen (opponent or not) and captain the most violent team I can put together in 10 days. I also enjoy arguing over which jersey that may never be made looks better. Other than that, I have little interest in the game.

That violent team that was put together in 10 days had a good run that tourney..... we were pretty rag tag though.
