I'd recommend splitting up Ian and I. Afterall, I had four points on my first four shifts then decided to not break a sweat and play defense the rest of the game...and still almost outscored your team....did I mention I havent played since the LGK game in February? Hey Bogey, did you get my number?

PPS: actually, it was the first six shifts, I just checked the score sheet. It's a bad sign, however, when I am asking "is the game is almost over?" and "can I just play defense now? 13 minutes in.

(basically, this is all aimed at Bogey, who I didn't recognize, and tripped me twice purposely and told me to "take his number" I get it now.)

The first one wasn't totally on purpose.
The second one blatantly was.
I figured you let me get away with the first one, you were going in on an opportunity, so...

FWIW, I was on the ice for one goal against that I can recall, maybe two, but I only recall one, and it was later in the game, so, you got my team but you didn't get me. LOL!

After Muddy's mega Ketel shot, I was feeling no pain and having a great time, but after that 2nd trip, I was wondering if I was gonna get a beatin'.

P.S. - Where's the first P.S? Before you can have a P.P.S., you have to have PS. I should know, I'm a grammar genius, right Mr_Conie? Heh.

P.P.S. - For whatever this is worth, I didn't know it was you, Leatherface, that I was tripping. It didn't become apparent to me until I saw your pissed-off face after the 2nd trip when I thought I was heading for a beatin'. It wasn't anything personal.

If the teams are evened up it'll be more competetive, less likely of a blowout, and what is the cost of a burger, $10 the most at The Counter. OK, beers then, whatever, something, as I said. Just a little incentive.

This is apparently a testosterone showdown.

I'm in charge of evening out teams, I've seen you all play now so it's doable.

Estrogen trumps.

Nuff said.

It was pretty obvious before the game started how this would go.

However, there was an agreement with players that Muddy would be on Team Sandbag, er, Tonga, (hey, I gotta get one shot in) so there wasn't much of a need to change that. On top of that, certain guys wanted to remain on the same team as well, so the situation just kinda snowballed from there. As Leather suggested, if he doesn't play with Ian that would make quite a difference.

We need a score keeper, though. Not keeping score is like playing poker when you get the chips for free. It's pointless to pretend it's a real game.

This is a process in itself. Unless we have set teams where all the same guys and gals show up to play every time, games like this will happen. And considering people flake or legitimately cannot make it every game, that's not an option.

I think it's pretty safe to say I'm one of the most competitive guys here. The team I played on got bent over and effed in the A without the courtesy of lube or a reach-around. Whatever, it's a pickup game amongst people you probably met online. Some guys play Gold, others only play when these come around.

Go out, play some hockey, drink heavily and have fun. This is an automatic good time.

Oh, and stay out of my way. Not because I'm going to rock you on purpose, but because I can't stop or maneuver.

And testosterone rocks.

I know it's a cliche, but I think the game was closer than the score indicated. If the teams had swapped goalies at the thirty minute mark the score would have been about 8 - 8 or so. I have been on both ends of lopsided pickup games. Who cares? Like fishmo says it's an automatic good time, & you just do what you can with what you got and have some fun.
