Messier Project helmets

Pro: this helmet is more protective than any other hockey helmet.

Con: excessive use of this helmet will make your head look like Messiers, which includes hair loss.

True, but how much difference is there between a 40 dollar ccm lid and a 150 mp one in reality? They're both hecc approved, I'm not a pro and up until now I've never seriously questioned it. And truth be told I won't spend more than 60 tops on a stick.

Well all helmets/hats etc cause hair loss due to excess retention of heat and other factors. Thusly i think a CCM helmet is just as likely to cause hair loss as a MP helmet. I'm also not on the ice 10 hours a week over
30+ years like 'The Captian' was so I think I'm good. :grin:

The benefit is I wont be dee dee dee by the time I'm 40.

I'm a sucker for bauer helmets, they always have had the best fittment to me.

I have yet to hear a bad thing about the messier helmets though.

I too am in the market for a new helmet and have thought about the M11. I have yet to talk to anyone who has one. I will be watching this thread and hopefully someone has something useful to say.

A guy on my team just got one. He said he really likes it. He got a black w/ purple trim and it looks pretty cool.

Before this season, I picked up an RBK 6K and I really like it. The size adjustment mechanism is very well designed. Very comfy, although the cage I got for it gets snagged where the ear flaps connect to the helmet. Only a problem when you initially snap it closed though.
