My new gear!
I picked up a new set of goalie pads down at hockeymonkey the other day and I wanted to share them on here. I use to play roller hockey when I was younger and I am wanting to get back into playing again just this time on ice. My old gear wasn't cutting it anymore and so I got myself a new set of TPS R5's. I haven't played on them yet but I think they look great and couldn't be happier from what I can tell about them so far. Originally I was going to get the RBK 6k combo but I have read a lot of bad reviews about their durability. Anyways here's a pic:

P.S. yes that is a real dog in teh bottom right.

Can we just warp to 10 years ago before all the buy-outs and merges?

tpshockey.com
It's pretty much the ****tiest and most incomplete/uninformitive website ive ever seen. Can't view color options (as far as i can tell), very little information on anything-- unless youre looking at the R8's, and according to the site your pads dont even exist lol. They show R4's, 6's, and 8's; no 5's. Maybe discontinued or a HockeyMonkey exclusive series?
Anyway, you have fun with that POS Canadien site.
Also, i found it very odd that when doing a google/yahoo search the top thing that comes up is HockeyMonkey.

Hockey/Goalie Monkey is THEEE best place for goalies to get their gear.
Sure, Hockey Giant is impressive when you walk to the back and there is an entire wall of legpads, but the people there are less than informed, generally indifferent to the thought of acutal customer service, and the next time Im FORCED to go there and spy employees smokin doobs across the street during their breaks I'm callin SloMo to lay some APD smackdown.
The downside to GoalieMonkey is the wait. Their goalie warehouse is on site, so when you pick something it is brought over in the hands of a staffmember who had to open boxes and sort through brand new shipments. Dont know about you, but the wait is worth it to me to get something fresh out of the plastic instead of something thats dirty and been messed with off the rack.
GoalieMonkey > the Giant.
