People will pay it.
I play with guys that, well, frankly, should be spending money on skating and stick handling clinics, DVDs, and sticktimes as opposed to the 250 dollar Stealths and 500 dollar Bauer One90s theyre sporting, but they do it anyway. Their perogative I guess.

Hrm, saw that article a few weeks back and it was dubious at best. Initially they stole the 9k image from ModSquadHockey's site, and they credited them only after they got complaints. They also cite that the stick is coming out to retail on March 1st which is/was false. And the supposed retail price is supposed to be $250. Given that Stealths were selling pretty well at $200, I wouldn't be surprised to see people shell out the extra $50 to try out the new innovations. Warrior's new top of the line stick--the Kronik--is going to be $240. The Mission Fuel is $200. CCM/Bauer's top sticks are in the $160-$180 range.
