Something like that.
Of course, the undead ghost of Gerry Cheevers might help out, too.

THe Dept. of Parks and Rec decided to turn the rink on the right into a set of tennis courts. The pisser is that the tennis court has WAAAAAAY better lighting. The surface is roll-on grey paint. I can contact someone about goals if we are interested in it?
I'm thinking about talking to a buddy of mine who is a professional welder. I will see what it would take to make a set of goals. I can only imagine how expensive they are to buy.
You can always go old school ghetto style and use shopping carts :)
They used to do that back when the Duarte rink was still around and no nets.
I live about a mile away and roll over there to try to stay in skating shape. I'm game for pick-up over there.
We've got two rinks in Fontana that are public use. The drawback is that they're just concrete, and they also use them for basketball. But they're good size, lively boards, no plexiglas though, chain link instead. The surface is pretty smooth, and I ref the city Rec leagues there, so I could probably set something up. And yes we do have nets.
Oh yeah... remind me to tell you what happened yesterday sometime.
so anyone playing there? weekend mornings are good for me
I skate with a friend at the old Wingate park in Covina pretty often. It isn't great, but it beats the playgrounds. Be ready for the Metrolink to fly by every hour or so right next to the park with its horn blasting.
