What are they, drug dealers? to sell its Bauer Hockey subsidiary to an investor group led by Kohlberg & Company and Canadian businessman W. Graeme Roustan for $200 million in cash.

Goal gear is expensive enough as it is. We don't need UA coming in and making things even more expensive.

i didn't really like it when nike bought them either but you must admit their products are one of the best out there technology and performance wise. i honestly don't think bauer could've advanced that much if they were on their own. nike has money...and they have enough money to spend on r&d to get the best products out there. they pushed other companies to develop better products also. we'll see what happens in the future. good luck to this new group.

The problem I heard was that when Nike bought Bauer/Cooper, they didn't retain their design departments, and brought in all new people who didn't know what the hell they were doing. That's what I've heard happened in the goalie division, at least. That's why their gear tended to be hit-or-miss.
As long as the new owners bring in some good hockey minds, I look forward to what they put out in the future.

well the good thing from what i hear is that bauer's r&d team will remain and will continue to put out the good products. so hopefully not much will change. i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I saw a guy in Megas recently. he said he bought them only a couple of years ago. crazy.
