    So back to visors, I think I'm going to switch from a cage to the Oakley with the half visor/half cage. Anyone have any suggestions with the half visor/half cage?

    JMFJ3, any update on the league?

    Starts on May 1st I believe....should be $285 a person, or we may try to do a team payment to make it a little cheaper

    After wearing a cage as a kid, nothing as an adult, and then trying to wear a visor as an adult to appease my wife, I'd definitely go back to wearing a cage of I spent any substantial time skating out anymore. When you look at the college ranks and check the ratio of cages to combos or vented full shields, that should say something. Cages are much more manageable these days in terms of vision. Still, I take my chances with merely a mouth piece.

    Now for photos of real headgear;

    Once you skate without a full cage, its so hard to go back to...you lose the puck alot in your feet because of the blind spot you have from the chincup and where the cage connects to it

    Yeah, didnt think of that.

    My biggest problem with visors is the smudges, scratches, and the fact that I sweat like a mother ****er.

    I did some work for Oakley awhile back and got a bunch of visors, tried them all, and hated them.

    since my skating out play is mostly casual (and focused on the LGK games!) Ill probably just keep going without wearing anything at all.

    i don't trust beer leaguers so i'll always wear full face protection. i don't know how many times i've been hit with a stick. and there are those freak accidents where you get hit with a puck. two of my teammates had oakley half cage half shields and loved it but had issues with scratches where they couldn't see out of the visor. they ended up switching back to a full cage. i've had my itech half shield half cage for 4 years now and it's still working. have a few scratches over the years, but nothing where it obstructs my view. i don't really like the fogging sometimes i get, but most of the time it goes away in a few seconds especially if i'm moving. if it does fog, it's mostly when i'm sitting on the bench anyways. but i don't think i'd go back to a cage just because of the wires in my face. i've been spoiled with the clear visor over the years.

    I find with half shields. If you wear the shield as far away from the face the shield doesn't fog up as much.

    Though with a friend having a serious eye injury from a beer league player stick. I might go back to a grill.

    I guess thats the whole thing, the majority of the time when Im skating out, Im not really playing with beer leaguers so much. Its either stick time with friends, or other assorted more org (and frankly better) pickups. or the LGK games, which is probably the only reason I skate out any more! cant wait to see you ****ers again soon.
