Playing at Ice Station? No booze allowed...

Just got this email regarding alcohol:

It has once again come to our attention that Ice Stations policies regarding alcohol in the locker room, parking lot and stands is once again being violated. As a reminder no outside alcohol is to be brought into or consumed anywhere on Ice Station property at any time. If a player or team is caught violating this policy the offending players and team rep will be suspended for a minimum of 3 games for the first offense and the balance of the season for any subsequent offense.



Additionally we would ask that you remind your supporters that come to watch you play of our policy on outside alcohol. Any spectator caught with outside alcohol will be asked to immediately leave Ice Station and will be subject to permanent removal from the premises.

I think a lot of rinks have been trying to crack down, but this language is a little harsher than most when it comes to actually dissuading people. We haven't heard the suspension word down at Anaheim Ice yet...

Wow. That's pretty harsh.

I worked at ISV from about 2002-2005 or so and the no-booze mandate came and went every couple of seasons from management, but those are strong words.

Do they still serve beer upstairs? When they started that they cracked down pretty hard also.

As long as you clean up your mess, I never saw a real problem.

Yeah, they still have beer upstairs.

My rink is the same way. I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure it's a condition of their liquor license. They can lose it if they get caught letting anyone bring in their own tasty adult beverages.
