Thread: Roller pickup @ Rose Bowl - Fall/Winter Sun @ 2 / Summer Wed. @ 6pm

For those of you interested in a little roller pickup hockey, show up to the Rose Bowl (in Pasadena) every Wednesday evening @ 5:30pm (Used to be 6pm). Everyone is cool. All skill levels are welcome to play. No attitudes. It's just good 'ol fashioned hockey. Plus, it's FREE!

Helmets, pads, gloves, etc. are all optional and are up to whatever you are most comfortable with. Most guys just wear shin/knee pads, skates (of course) and gloves.

We play in the northern end of Parking Lot K. Lot K has a smooth enough surface where we can even use a roller hockey puck. Games average 12 to 14 skaters every week. We shoot on mini nets. There are no goalies. Increase your shooting accuracy!

I would love to make it but I have school. Do you guys ever play at like Duarte or Wingate in Covina? I don't wanna get my wheels/gear torn up if it's on a rough surface.

Yeah, we play in Duarte (at that outside rink @ the park) usually on Saturdays or Sundays every week. PM me with your email address and I can add you to our email list. You'll get a couple emails a week telling you where and when we're playing, as well as a head count of who's showing up. It's pretty organized.

Would love to join you guys tonight, but I still need to go out and at least get some shin pads. Went to Big 5 and Chicks Sporting Goods stores this past weekend and came up empty at both. Need to go shopping for that stuff tonight and then I can join you guys next Wednesday.

I bought my shin/knee pads for $9.99 at Play It Again Sports in Pasadena. They luckily had my size and they were in good condition. I suggest Play It Again Sports for some quick pads n stuff.

There are 6... maybe 7 people confirmed for tonights game @ 6pm. So there will definitely be a game tonight.

Maybe I will join you once school ends in a few weeks.

Definitely! One of the guys tried talking my GF into playing, but she won't. You should come out! It'll be fun.
