Cool deal! You will have zero upside starting at that age but I promise you will have loadas of fun and meet some very cool people....also will probably learn a bit more about the game itself and in particular what people mean when they talk about the atmosphere of the locker room. Some are like a frat house, others filled with tension, some just people having a good time while other treat a beer league like Game 7. Enjoy the ride and double up on your insurance.

ETA: Yes, it can get pretty hot in all the gear. Be glad you're not a goalie. Sometimes it feels like I'm baking.

Dude, I'm learning too, you should come join us at the puck up games. Went and played with barely any skating skills and learned a lot! Still learning but still having a blast!

Theres two, but I can only make it to the late ones. Starts at 7:45pm.
