Default Seattle / Tacoma area hockey.

I know we've got at least one or two posters here on LGK who live in the Seattle and Tacoma area and I was wondering if any of you know where any hockey leagues are in this area? I googled, and found a couple of things, but I know that google maps can be a bit inaccurate at times and as I've stated before, I apparently don't know how to talk to google. Plus it would always be nice to hear from people who've skated at local arenas about those places. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would bet the the rink(s?) the Thunderbirds play and practice in would be your best start.

I usually go up there once a year for work and once in a while get to bring my hockey stuff with me. But most of the places to play are in the Seattle area, Renton and northern parts of Seattle. I usually stay by Seatac and go to a place just north of Tukwila off the 405 a couple of exits north from the 5/405 split, I forget the name of the rink (Castle Ice?) but they have sticktime and pickups (Schedules are posted on there sites). I think the Thunderbirds have a link on there website to all local rinks (that's where I started to look when I found out I was going to Seattle). If your're gonna look for gear, make sure you plan a trip to Vancouver, there's nothing but a small shop and rink pro shops in the area.

Here's a list of the rinks

Thanks. I've got plenty of gear, and mainly I was asking because my 7 year old nephew wants to try ice hockey and I think it would be good for him.

Also because I might end up relocating in that area but I was visiting family and didn't have a whole lot of time to check in to it.

    Thanks again.

My buddy moved up to that area two years ago and said the rinks suck ****! He hated it so much that he's thinking about moving back to SoCal.
