Default Should I buy the Bauer one40 skates or something else

    Hi everyone,
Well Ive only played 2 seasons on ice so I am still a beginner level.
I feel like my current skates(Tron v10 bought em just to learn) aren't cutting it.
I found on various sites that the one40 skates are one sale and I was wondering if anybody has experience with them?
Should I buy em? Or spend some extra money and buy something else and what would you recommend?

All advice will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks alot!

You should buy skates that fit you well. That's by far the most important consideration. I would not buy skates online unless I knew exactly what I was getting. Go to a hockey shop and try on some skates and hopefully you'll get a sales person who knows what he's doing. Assuming you're in SoCal, if you go to HockeyGiant, HockeyMonkey or Discount Hockey, you'll get rock bottom prices as well.

Santi nailed it. Go try them on, and then support your LHS.

Don't forget to have the skates baked when you buy them.

What size skate do you wear? I have a pair of Graf Ultra G5's that I would be willing to sell, I've worn them for two seasons of beer league hockey, basically once a week, for the last 9 months. They are mens, 7.5 "regular", but I did have them punched around the midpoint of the footbed.

Just to hammer the point home: ALWAYS wear skates before you buy them. Everyone's foot is slightly different and differnet brands fit different on different people. Just get what is comfy for YOU.

I just took a friend to Jakes and he got a pair of Bauer for under 200 they fit great and he will get the service he may need as they break in and may need punching and or re-baking.

As mentioned over and over, where ever you go make sure to get them fitted properly.

Ask for them extra crispy, animal style.

Unfortunately I'm a size 11.5 but thanks for offering!
