Thread: Snoopy Senior World Hockey Tournament

If your in Santa Rosa, Calif in July as the Snoopy Senior World Hockey Tournament will take place. Charles Schultz played hockey and loved the game. I was at a
Peanuts and Gang Convention in 1988 and met Charles. I mentioned I was a King Fan
and he just rattled off on how he liked Dave Taylor and gang.

From 40 and up, I saw some that were 90 and played a game with the 80's and up.
They were in good shape to boot.....

a bunch of guys on my 40 and over team play in the tourney and love it. they are pretty good to very good players as well.

It's a great tournament if you're looking for one. It's not as good now as when Shultz ran it - the city took over when he died with some help from his son Monty. The league starts at age 40 and when we quit going they were up to 75+. Each division spreading 5 years.

It lasts the whole week and fills up the town with hockey players and families from all over. It used to be a great time.

Oh and there's hockey from 6 AM to 12 midnight every day for a week! If you can't get enough during that week, oh well!

I actually have that picture in the video. That was so much fun watching them try to fit all the players, by team in that picture.

The opening ceremonies is a good show too. Snoopy used to parade in with bagpipers and a member of all the teams skates on to the ice. All this was before Schultz died though. Can't account for what it's like now. But it would be worth a try.

i hope to do hit up that tourney 20 years from now
