My RBK 5K inlines are cut pretty wide.
If youre a bigger guy which im assuming you are. DEFINATELY invest in a harder compound wheel before you even think about going out on asphalt or any other outdoor surface.
1. Youll be flipping your wheels every other time you use them on a soft compound.
2. Rocks and cracks will literally mangle soft wheels
3. There's not a lick of give on the soft compounds and too much grip isnt good at all. Especially if youre transfering from ice.
Little guys may get away with using soft wheels outdoors, but for us heftier guys, dont even consider anything but hard compound.
The adjustment from one to the other definately takes some getting used to, but doesnt take long to get the hang of.
