I liked the OLD one they had near the entrance. I bought quite a bit of gear there.

I was thinking the other day what are people going to do during tournaments when they need sticks or to replace lost/broken gear?
I hope they don't shut that snack bar down. I love having cheese sticks and beer during camp.
For big tournaments, Golden Bear or Play It Again can set up temporary tables indoors (or a tent in the parking lot). Heck, Hockey Monkey or (ugh!) Hockey Giant can do it, too, if they want to make the drive.
In fact, if this trend continues (mom-n-pop pro shops no longer economically viable ensconced in every rink) then maybe it makes sense for HM & HG to have their own branded trucks to haul gear around to SoCal rinks having big tourneys. Kind of like the Kings fan development "chariot".
It is sad when these skate shops close. I used to go to Lee's Skate shop in Westminister, that place was great. It is understandable that the shop at TSC is closing. For the most part people are buying their gear at HM or HG or other megastores. So long as they have skate sharpening, white/black/clear tape, laces, and maybe a few dozen sticks available for sale in the office or down at the skate rental area it wont bother me too much. I'm just galad the rink isnt closing. They probably have a spike in sales of T shirts and jersies during camp. They could probably set up some tables in the concession concourse upstairs to sell that kind of stuff when the opportunity arises. BBO's idea of a truck coming out to sell gear during tourneys would probably be good if you could get HM or HG on board.
Team LA has always sucked anyways.
