Thread: Trying to build a new team at Valencia Ice Station...anyone interested?

No I hear you on the sandbagging thing....I feel the same way. We had to get ourselves one this season just to balance it cause each team in the league has at least one. There's a whole team in our division actually that's been playing together for like 15 years, and you can tell, but they think because they're older guys that its okay to stay down in the D4 league. If you're open to it, you could always come over and check out one of our games and judge for yourself, it definatley sounds like with your background it might be a bit slow for you though.

This season we play monday nights at either 8:45 or 10:15 but last season it was sundays at 7:00 or 8:30. We have a game tonight at 8:45 and then the last 6 of our games will be 10:15 so if you can make it by come check it out.

Olympic or NHL? What is the end time, 10?

Yeah I'm#38 on the D-Bags. It'll say El Fuego on my jersey s you can't miss me...I think we're white jerseys tonight. Its on the NHL rink starts at 8:45 so yeah it'll be done around 10 or so.

Hey, first time posting- I'm definitely interested in playing in that league. I occasionally go to stick times at ice station and the monday night hockey class. I'm 24 and a decent skater, only been playing hockey casually for a couple years. Also sometimes skate Sunday nights at Culver City.

Does the league allow mercenaries? I showed up shortly before you went offsides and tapped the goal post. The Eagles look like the sanbaggers of the league. Also, I stayed for the Ice Holes v. Sharks. The Ice Holes cheering section needs nails hammered into their faces.

Haha, yeah that wasn't my finest moment.

The Eagles are a solid team, some people on it are definatley of a high level i think but they do have some guys that belong. The thing is they have a team in each division so i think they might kindda move guys around season by season...over all they're cool guys though so I don't really have a problem with them.

And don't get me started on the Ice Wholes, I've gotten into it with them a few times as have most of the other teams...and their fans are definatley special. No class across the board.

Can players sub in for a game or two and just pay for those games?

I'm not sure. I'd have to check, I think if we pay as a team, then you can basically have whoever jump out and just pay into that on a per game basis, but if everyone pays individually I think you have to be rostered and paid in full.

Brutal. The Eagles having a team in each league reminds me of paintball where teams would do that. Anyone that didn't make the division/league they were in were sandbagged to the next one down. It was awful.

Yeah that might be how it goes. I know for a fact that the goalie they played last night plays on their 4a/Upper Novice team. But like I said, they're at least cool guys and they don't rub it in your face (which as you saw they very well could have last night). Oh well like I said, that's why if I can get this team together I wouldn't feel bad having 2-3 of our own guys who should be up in higher divisions....level the playing field.
