Thread: Vegas Tournament?

Just so we are all on the same page....
- Did everyone on the list get the initial email I sent to Fan4Life when this
thread started?

- Because if you did, you would have noticed the Director* said he could not
merge us with another team. Maybe 2 or 3 players on different teams.

- So far we have 6 players and a goalie, that's 7 so far.

- We have until Friday to pay the $200 deposit. That's $28.50 per person** now.
I can put up the $200 and have you all pay me back at the next pick up game.
Pita, you can pay me later since you are out of town (as long as you are in for sure).

- As far as adding players after the deposit, I didn't ask the Director* about this, but
I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue.

- I forgot to ask about uniforms, I will call tomorrow.

- After this we fill out a registration form and provide the necessary info to the
Director*. This too, should have been in the email.

- If the roster stays at 6 players and 1 goalie, the price for each player/goalie is $318.00.
This is based on a 14 player roster at $159.00 each = $2226.00.

- None of these prices include Hotel.

Do you all still want to do this?

Personally, I want at least 10 players and a goalie - otherwise scrap it.
But if you all think we can get more players added to the roster and risk $30 each,
then speak up.

Here is a note from the organizer...

"Everyone has to have the same color uniform, but they don't have to be an exact match on the trim. Everyone has to have a unique, permanently attached number (no duplicate numbers and no taped-on numbers).

The roster and full payments are not due until Feb. 8. However, the $200 deposit is non-refundable. So, if you pay the deposit, then drop out, you will lose the $200.

I expect the tournament to fill up in the next couple of days, so you need to decide pretty quickly. IMO, if you only have 6 players, you should probably not chance it and try again for the next tournament. In general, I would say you should have at least 10 "solid" players before you commit. You may be able to pick up more players, but there is also the chance that you will lose some players.

Pita, I don't think the jersey rule applies to you since you will be in net. Maybe just a numbered jersey. Any ideas on jerseys?

I assume everyone has read my previous post about the cost to play if we only have 6 skating out.

If anyone changes their mind or gets cold feet, let me know before 1pm tomorrow. That's when I plan to pay for the deposit.

I say something like this. Cheap. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 bucks and we can get numbers on them for free in some cases. Less if we order in bulk. I call for red as the color. Anyone call their number yet ?
