Way to go Norwalk Ice !!! 1) They finally joined the 21st century and got a website:

2) They schedule plenty of pickup games.
3) They run one of my favorite ice hockey activities: 1 hour of skills-n-drills followed by 1 hour of pickup.
Now I have to go find out where Norwalk is and check this out.

The rink is still a train wreck. I'd hoped after Darius sold it it'd improve.
the ice is chunky and sticky, the boards (especially along the ice) are dead and do not make any noise. Still have plywood where some of the windows should be. Bench doors do not work, etc. Did I mention its smaller than Westminster Ice?
that said, the sat pickup draws a decent crowd. I've played on Wed nights here and there with some of the local kids. It's all pretty dismal.
Yea, I'd heard that it's an old rink, but obviously it's gonna be geographically close by to some hockey people, and I had to give them a shout-out just for the website (letting us know what's going on there and when) which I just discovered.Originally Posted by VisionQuest

Is Westminster small? Looked NHL regulation to me the few times I'd been there (tried to ignore the low ceiling in making my judgement).
I'm not aware TSC ever had them (besides Daryl Evans' once-or-twice-a-year Kings ticket promotional versions of that .... which isn't regular enough to be useful). I'm talking about full-ice 1 hour Skill and Drills, followed by 1 hour pickup. The only rinks I ever knew that did that was PickWick Burbank (Wed 10pm-midnight) and Yorba Linda Ice Palace (also Wed 10pm-midnight).
The closest you'll get at TSC is Rob Armstrong's small-group sessions at 6am sticktime, but they only get to use 1/2 of inside the west-end blueline, so they are limited to <5 or 6 people.
Yeah I hear you. Im always rooting for Norwalk. Right now the stores in the local area are getting a big gentrification treatment, perhaps that'll bring more attention to it. I dont know. Like Mud said, at least it isnt chainlink for glass anymore, which is what it had when I played there as a youngster. I had some good times listening to Darius' war stories and buying all my gear there from their discount bins and stuff. Ive got some great Norwalk memories.
Westminster is small. probably 80-85% of an NHL rink. Norwalk is closer to 70-75%.
