I'll not mince words. Everyone here gave supersolid advice, I would add that a good pair of roller blades so you can literally pick up and skate around anytime wouldnt be a bad plan. If you're lookin for ice hockey, stick to that until you get a good grip because roller hockey can give newb icers bad habits and vice versa, but skating is skating for the most part. (stopping...waaaay diff.)
A more attainable goal would be giving yourself a few years if you have time for lots and lots of practice to aim for higher level in-house leagues. Playing Am or Pro... probably not happening.
