I finally made it out to Agoura Hills to check out Encore Sports. I was thoroughly impressed. Solid prices, nice selection, very knowledgeable staff.
Where do you go?

Hockey Giant. Free sharpenings since I bought the skates there. Hate not knowing the prices of stuff but it's a good store. Hit up hockey Monkey every once in a while.
Hockey Monkey rocks
Cornell Hockey - LETS GO RED!
"I love this f***ing team right here."
The one time I went to Hockey Giant it felt like a hockey-themed WalMart, to me. I just didn't appreciate the disconnect from salesperson to customer. Having said that, it's still an amazing store with an unbeatable selection. I'll be back the next time I'm in the area, for sure.
hockeymonkey hands down....
Hockeygiant when I am desperate and last place to look.
play it again sports in mira mesa
I prefer to refer to HG as Hockey Costco.
I like Monkey but sometimes HG has better deals. I usually stop at both if I make the trip. If you want great service, Hockey Central in Garden Grove is the place.
I live near and play @ TSC and they do a good job on my skates.
Have they increased the on-site inventory and retail space at Discount Hockey/Encore Sports? Every time i have gone over there (I live in Thousand Oaks) their in store inventory was not very extensive. Nice people though...
Prices are better at Monkey and Giant. Overall shopping experience is best at Monkey.
OKay I am mixed here...
For prices, I like going to Hockeymonkey rather than the Giant.
For service, I go to either Golden Bear in Lomita and they have never done me wrong with my skates and they can get stuff, but it is pricier.
I also like to go to Play it again Sports in Torrance. Mike is a good guy and he and Jerry do a good job there
Hockey Monkey for new stuff.
Play it again sports for used ones.
I thought Dick's sporting had plenty of hockey stuff which they do online. But when visiting their recently new store in West Covina, I was shocked they sold goods for most sports but the only thing they had for hockey were sticks and balls for street hockey.
