Hats off to all of you who played today. It was blowing like 40 mph here in Long Beach. Day off and I didn't even think once of heading to the range. Way too much damn wind!!
I was working up in La Mirada and La Habra today and decided to check out the Hacienda Golf Club for a bit in my spare time. A little drizzle came down and carts started racing to the club house. I couldn't believe it. It takes more than light rain for 5 minutes for me to abandon a round. The place appeared to be in decent shape but I expected more from a private course.
A very lucky 88 yesterday at Los Lagos in Costa Mesa. Wind was horrible
If you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. Now, quiet! The're about to announce the lottery numbers...
83 at Trump from the tips. Finished double-double (and no, I didn't go to In-N-Out afterwards...)
Beautiful course in terms of condition and scenery. Ocean views bettered maybe only by Pebble and Cypress Point. As far as the course layout, it blows. Target golf to the extreme, include several blind drives, long carries off the tee and some of the greens looked like Trump might have buried some bad employees under them. There are tough courses (PGA tour stops where it's long, tight and deep rough) then there are unfair tough courses where it is unrewarding and unforgiving. The latter is what Trump National was.
But alas, it was nice to play and had a good time nonetheless.
Played the other day at Alondra.
My scores were:
001 002 003 004 005 006 007 008 009 010 011 012 013 014 015 016 017 018
5/4 6/5 4/3 4/4 6/4 4/4 4/4 4/3 5/5 5/4 7/4 4/3 4/4 3/3 7/5 5/4 5/4 5/5
87!
Finally broke bogey golf.
Hope I can keep it up.
Here's what sucks though:
I missed a 6ft birdie putt on 9.
I went OB on my 1st tee shot on 11 (re-shot from tee, counted both strokes and added a penalty stroke).
I hit two from the same trap on 15.
I missed a 4ft birdie putt on 18. (This is a friggin' tough hole to birdie and I was so stoked to see my ball 4ft from the hole when I made it to the green (pin was obscured by hill/bunker in front of hole). I thought I had friggin' birdie coming. Was happy to par it, but DAMN I can't believe I missed that birdie putt).
Oh yeah, my GIR count was holes 1, 4, 6, 9, 14, 18.
That's great for me.
