Last round I played was a couple of months ago when my dad was in town.
We played at Recreation Park in Long Beach (right down the street). The upkeep on this course is fabulous and the greens putt very true. The course features nice elevation changes and has par-4s that range from 300 to 450 yds. Has 3 par-5s (reachable with 2 good shots). Total length approx. 6,300 yds. Watch out for the rough...
Ended up with an 80, with 3 birdies (which demonstrates that I was playing expanded croquet in spots).
So 8 weeks off isn't exactly great for the golf game as it turns out. 83 at Arroyo Trabuco over the weekend. Not too horrible considering the layoff, but not good either.
I was trying out a new driver and I sprayed a few OB, plus I got a few bad breaks along the way. Ultimately, I need to play more often and that kind of stuff won't happen as much.
Broke 100 for the first time Sunday morning.
It was Lakewood but I know of at least 6 shots I gave away.
Shot an 88 at De Bell Golf Course in Burbank. Not too bad considering the only golf I've done over the last couple years has been the LGK events.
Congrats, Tonga!! That's an awesome milestone to pass!
Thanks, didn't break it by much though.
That's all right, you only have to break it by one to break it. :) The good thing to keep in mind is that whether you're shooting 140 or 70, after every round every golfer says "I shot a (blank), but I should have shot a (blank)." Those lip outs, three puts, shanks, and bad breaks are all still out there and unfortunately will still happen. The key is having 5 of them a round instead of 15...
Enjoy the 90's!! Keep looking forward to the 80's!
94 at Los Serranos, the North Course.
I played like crap, and for some reason that course is in my head. I can never break 90 there. :(
