Two rounds with my new set of Titleist 755s (Dynamic Gold S300 shafts), and loving them. Great feel to the club. Once I get used to the stiff shafts, these are going to work out beautifully.
10.8, nice. I hope to get to 8.5 or so by the end of summer, and yes putting (and chipping) will go a long way to helping that.

This past Saturday at Mile Square, my putting was awesome (sans one hole). I was sinking 8 - 10 footers more than I was missing, and the ones I was missing were 1/2 - 1 inch misreads. My pace was fine.

Doesn't fixing putting require buying a new putter?

Dang, there's been some serious activity in this thread over the last few hours.

No One, I love my Mizunos. They're old now, MX-23s, but they feel so sweet still. I'd recommend almost anything they make.

As far as golf goes, I played a few rounds last week in the desert. The Classic Club was a great course, especially so for $35 thru C4TT, but the greens were slow and I didn't get a handle on them all day. Shot something in the mid 80s. That was 11:30-ish. Then went to Trilogy at La Quinta and played pretty well. Greens were slow again and didn't have good feel on them again. Wasn't keeping track of the scores too much, but was low-mid 80's again. The next day played Terra Lago North. Really liked that course, and liked the green speed a lot better. Started out really mediocre for some reason w/ a 42 on the front. Then was even on the back up until 18. Was tied with my buddy at +6, and for some reason decided to pull two shots in a row into the water - 6 iron, then gap wedge. No idea where that came from. Sucked bad to two-putt for a quadruple bogey after such a good back 9 to that point. 82.

The best part was that my back held up through 3 rounds in 25 hours. Nice!!!
Have you ever guessed somebody's gender wrong? There's no recovering from that. You just gotta move on, cause you ain't wriggling outta nothin'.
    "Hey, excuse me, sir?"

Yeah, I went back to Roger Dunn to swing the mizuno's again. I retried the 52 and 62's with the stock S300 shafts and they were pretty sweet. Granted this was when I was cold, but I hit more nice shots (feel wise) with the 52's than the 62's, but the feel on the 62's when I would hit one was awesome. Still leaning 52's. I did find some used with the Rifle 6.0 shaft, and that MAY be a little too stiff.

My son works for Dicks Sporting Goods in Louisville, so I may be buying by new clubs through him, but only after a fitting.

Great...does sound like a challenge. I shot a +3 on the front 9 of the Goose a couple of weeks ago...I think I will be testing out the course at Eagle Glen real soon.

My index has finally dipped below 15...14.7.

    Weekends at Eagle Glen - $69 w/cart.

    The positives -

    Grass Practice Facility
    Nice Club House/Bar
    Decent Food
Large Bent Grass Greens - Fast with subtle breaks.
    Usually kept up well
    Good mental/visual test
    I don't recall any 5 somes.

    The Negatives -

Weekend play can be DEATHLY slow. Front 9 is usually slower. #4 is a short Par 3 and there is a backup, and the next is a par 5 where the 2nd shot is across a ravine. Many weekend warriors think they can hit the green in 2 (it isn't a long par 5). The rest of 'em hit their second shot into said ravine. It usually picks up after that, but still a little slow.

The wind. Can get blowing pretty good into you on many of the holes.

3 weeks ago, the greens were not receptive at all. I would hit some flush 9 irons and wedges into the greens short of the pin, and I would be on the back side of the green. They were better last week.

    Small practice green.

For $69 ($55 for seniors, even on the weekend) it is a good course.

From the gold tees, it is rated 70.3/129.

Keep you ball on the right level, and under the hole and you'll do fine. Pay close attention to the hills around the course while you are on the greens. Yes, they will slope away from the hills even if you can not see it. Get your speed right, and you can score.

85 Tustin Ranch. I had 2 triples and 2 three putts. Yes, those 3 putts were NOT on the triple bogey holes. So there is about 6 - 8 shots left on the course right there. ARGH!!!! For some strange reason, I was unable to hit full wedges today. I was 1 for 3, I think. I tried to take a little off my 50* and SHANKED it. I tired to take a little off my 54* and SHANKED that **** too... ARGH!!!!! Even with all that, I was still able to post an 85.

    Trend looks like a 10.2....

(Damn, if it gets much lower I won't be able to post anything worse than a double bogey. Equitable Stroke Control may suck here soon, as I can not contain 1 - 2 hoe EXPLOSIONS).

I was never fond of that rule, as it seems to penalize the reasonable golfer who occasionally hits shots sideways just as much as it protects that golfer from the true sandbaggers. If you make a snowman, you should be able to post that 8. It would keep the index a much more realistic number (at least for me).

Of course, I don't even have an index anymore, so it doesn't really matter.

Well, I would have had no 8's yesterday. I do understand the reasoning behind the rule, considering the index is what you should shoot about 25% of the time.

I pulled of an 85 at Mile Square on the Players course with no birdies. I hit a whopping 6 of 14 fairways with my driver. I would make good swings, and it would go WAY left. I would try to ease up and I would get caught behind the ball, and lose it right. This has been a constant problem for the last month or so, and I have no control.

So today...I head over to the range this afternoon to figure out my drive. I take my old r580XD with the UST Proforce 65 shaft and the Tour Burner with the stock Taylor Made Stiff shaft.

With the old driver, I was stroking the ball. Straight more often than not, sometime a slight draw.

The Tour Burner was the same ol’ same ol’. The occasional nice one, followed by the standard rips to the left.

I come home to determine when I bought the club, and it was beyond 90 days. Therefore, my driver is in the shop getting a new shaft; the UST Proforce V2.

(slight bump up in the Trend Index from 10.1 to 10.2, since the 11.5 from yesterday bumped off a 10.5 20 rounds ago).

oh yeah, if you check my latest scores posted.. 87, 84, 84, 85, 85. Someone may look at that an think I am cheating. I need to blow it up with a 76!!!!

Can someone explain to me the distance I "should" be getting with my Burner 52 wedge. I just got it and I'm only getting about 50 yards out of it. Still new at this, so cut me some slack.

What do you get from your pitching wedge?

Do you have another wedge with a higher loft than the 52?

I can get 115 or so from my pitching wedge, 100 or so from my 50, 85 or so from my 54, and 70 from my 60.

EDIT - My dad can get about 75 yards or so from his Cleveland CG12 52* wedge.
