Way to go!
Nice track on which to break that threshold, too.

shot a 4-over 40 for nine holes at a local muni, including an eagle on the first hole. 25-yard bump-and-run from the fairway that found the hole. the mrs. has picked up the game and had her first bogey today. life is rich.....

What is everyone's take on throwing in a few of your scratched up balls in the bucket at the driving range?

I shot a 98 at the Costa Mesa CC this past Sunday. I know, I know, but remember, I just started 7 months ago.

The average golfer cannot break 100, for you to get there in just 7 months is pretty darn good. Keep it up! You won't find any ridicule here, it's a damn tough game to play.

Why not? Unless you use them at home for chipping or putting, they're just going to sit there. Plus, since most range balls are distance controlled, the dinged up ones can give you a better idea how your distances are on a given day.

I played 4 times last week.
Tuesday at Diamond Bar, shot an 83. Bad front 9 coupled with a 38 back.
Friday also at Diamond Bar. Played better overall, but shot an 84.
Saturday at the Butterfield Stage course at El Prado, in Chino. Threw down a back 9 37 for an 80.
Sunday played at Shandin Hills in San Bernadino for the first time. $20 to play, including cart on a Sunday, great deal. Course is in real great shape, really, I would assume the surrounding area (Highland) ain't so great for business, so you can get some good deals here. I think the tougher layout of this course (every green is well guarded by bunkers), and playing my third round in a row got to me, I blew up a little on the back 9 and shot an 86.
Index rests at 10.0.

I tired really hard not to play the rest of the month, but it didn't work out that way. I headed to San Juan Hills on Saturday and shot an 83. Seems like a good way to follow up the 77, as it was a "good" 83.
I couldn't drive, and when I did, I couldn't approach. When I couldn't approach, I was chipping fine. My putting was so-so.
This round kicked off a 9.6 round, and instead of a 13.7 on the index, this round's 11.2 replaced the 9.6
Trend ticked up to a 9.7...
Tomorrow, Los Serranos South.
p.s. nice job, FlyinKing!!!!
