Since I was in San Antonio all week, and unable to practice (which I don't think I have done in a month), Dad and I decided to walk onto Mile Square. They put us on the Players course. A nice little 81 today.
I did hit a couple of nice chips that stopped within 2 feet of the cup, and some others I hit well enough to give me chances. However, I ended up flying one 25 feet long on 17 (wound up 3 putting) and chunking one on 18.
I did have a doozie of a WTF moment, and it occurred on the easiest hole on the course (#13). Hit my drive into the sand, and had a HORRIBLE lie. My feet were WAY above the ball, and topped it and kept it in the sand (mistake #1). THEN, my brain stopped working. I "checked" the GPS for an approximate distance to the center of the green (85 yards), and hit a GORGEOUS shot out of the sand. Crisp, clean, ball would go 85 yards or so. The problem(s)? I didn't give the GPS enough time to re-sync nor did I even question it. So, I hit an 85 yard shot, when I had 60-something to the hole. Ended up with a double.
ARGH!!!! (Still can't drive as well as I used to)...
