Played Mile Square Classic for the first time in a LONG time yesterday. Didn't make a putt all day... I'm talking literally I think I made one 5-6 footer, and that was the longest one I made. I had two 3-putts. Luckily I hit it hole high on both par-5s on the front and made birdies to turn in 39. I started off the back 9 with three straight double bogeys as a result of a bad break and some crappy shots. After that I hit it really solid and parred my way home for an 81.
I felt especially good on the 17th, a 450 yard par 4 back into the wind. For those last 6 holes, I hit some of the most solid shots I've hit in quite a while. Great ball flight, trajectory, distance control (except for the couple of shots where I sucked donkey balls). Just wish I could have made something on the greens. But, I think I may have found something with my distance control on the last few holes at least. I'm hoping I can keep that feel into my next round, and maybe I'll get lucky hitting my lines.
