NHL 3 Stars: Parise leads Wild to sixth straight win; Kings best Blackhawks (PuckDadd
No. 1 Star: Zach Parise, Minnesota Wild
As he often does, Parise led the way for the Minnesota Wild, contributing 2 goals and an assist in their 7-4 win over the Dallas Stars. His first goal was a great effort, as he batted the puck out of mid-air:
The win, Minnesota's sixth in a row, put them back on top of the Northwest division.
No. 2 Star: Michael Frolik, Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks wasted a three-point night from Frolik, who had 2 goals and an assist in a 5-4 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
No. 3 Star: Brent Burns, San Jose Sharks
Since being converted to forward, Brent Burns has 7 points in 7 games. Two of those points came in Monday night's 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks, where Burns had the game's first goal and an assist later on.
Honourable mention: Dustin Brown scored the game-winner in Chicago with 90 seconds remaining:
Patrice Bergeron scored the game-winner and the shootout winner in the Boston Bruins 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Toronto Maple Leafs... Ben Bishop was certainly the busier of the two goaltenders in Ottawa's 3-2 shootout victory over the New Jersey Devils. He made 32 saves. Marty Brodeur only needed to make 14... Sergei Kostitsyn and Martin Erat had two-point nights at the Nashville Predators hung a 3-2 loss on the Edmonton Oilers... Pavel Datsyuk added a game-winning goal to go with an assist in the Detroit Red Wings' 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes.
Did You Know? Minnesota's win was their first in Dallas, the city that stole their last hockey team, in a decade.
Dishonourable mention: The hockey gods, who were so unimaginative they allowed pretty much every game to end 3-2 tonight... Erics Nystrom and Cole were both a minus-3 for Dallas... Toronto led a two-goal lead slip away in Boston... Kyle Turris hit the post twice with the same shot. Way to blow it, Kyle.
