2011-12 vs 2013-14
This current stretch is terrible, but looking back at 11-12 there was this stretch...
18 games from Jan 15 to Feb 27.
The Kings lost 12 of the 18 and scored 1 or fewer goals 11 times including 3 shutouts.
It may not be quite as bad as this year as far as goal scoring, but it was pretty close and there was a 2-8 stretch in there.
It took a major trade to shake things up. But looking at that major trade, the core piece that left there was already a player ready to take his place. Makes me think if anyone is heading out from the core it's either Stoll or Williams.

IF (a BIG IF) management feels Vey is ready to step in to take Stoll's place, or another winger is ready to take Williams' place, then such a trade could be made. Personally, I doubt Vey is ready for the full-time center position.

i think Vey is a big question mark for this year. but if DL could get a nice asset in return for Stoll he would have to think about it. he could always put Carter at center or Lewis. but i have to think Vey should be given a shot to start with the big club out of camp next year.
