Default 2013 Los Angeles Kings Roster

With what I think is finally the end of the CBA crap, I figured it was time for us to start chatting it up regarding what our roster is going to look like.

I also don't want to hear any crap about "You're gonna Jinx it". I damned well tried during the playoffs and that didn't happen, so click the back button if that's gonna be your take.

Here's where we are according to Cap Geek, which is the exact same roster that skated the cup on Staples Ice last June:

Los Angeles Kings Salary Cap Chart

Right out of the gate, we gotta cut one forward, and that assumes that Loki stays in Manchester. If you're including him in the discussion as being on the big club, somebody else has to go too.

    Who gets traded or waived?

My vote is that its Richardson via waiver claim from elsewhere. I also think that Dreweiske is going down and is replaced with someone from the minors, and we go with lines like this:

    Brown-Kopitar-Williams
    Gagne-Richards-Carter
    Penner-Stoll-Lewis
    King-Fraser-Nolan
    (Westie-Clifford)

    Doughty-Scuderi
    Mitchell-Voynov
    Martinez-Greene
    (Hickey)

    Quick
    Bernier

At some point in the season, I'm thinking that Bernier is going to get dealt. They'll wait until closer to the deadline to make sure Quickster is in top form before they move him.

    Discuss.

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Stir the pot much? I think you are correct if it indeed happens, but I also think you are jumping a big gun.

I haven't been following Manchester very much but I thought that Muzzin was higher up the depth chart than Hickey.

I think they are going to let Bernier play out his contract. They have to have a reliable backup so unless one of those somehow gets in the picture, Bernier stays.

Other than that, the big issues will involve call ups for injuries.

i have a feeling that hickey and bernier will not be in the org longer than 3 days after the cba is figured out. muzzin WILL be in la this season as will rich clune and marty jones. roubs will be called up to match, and carozzi becomes starter in ontario

Whenever (if) the season starts, I'm looking forward to seeing what a fully healthy Gagne/Richards/Carter line will produce!

You've got to be high if you think Bernier is going anywhere. We need a reliable back up if Quick were to go down!

Except that he has already asked to be traded and having an unhappy goalie really won't do either the team or the goalie much good.

Brad Richardson - 13 playoff games, 59 regular season games, part of a 4th line that at points during the Kings Playoff run was carrying the teams momentum
Kevin Westgarth - 0 playoff games, 0 games in April, 0 games in March, NHLPA team rep

Yes. Let's get rid of Richardson.
