There's a lot more buzz for 2015, especially in terms of top end talent.

As for the draft order, King Ludwig and Ranma are right. The Kings get the Rangers' 7th rounder, meaning the Kings have the last two picks of the draft. And the Kings have their 2nd round pick. On the flip side, Edmonton's 3rd rounder is going to Columbus instead.

    Will update OP later.

Kind of silly to see who we will be picking with the 29th pick. No-one will be able to tell you who is available with that pick..........wait until the 28Th pick and then put you best guess in............IMHO

I guess I misread the depth of this draft in relation to next year's class and looking at the top prospects for 2015, it makes sense that that class would be deeper. However, I thought the Kings owed Columbus a second-round selection either this year or next year. I thought the third-rounder was only if the Kings did not advance past the first round of this year's playoffs and if Gaborik didn't re-sign. Since the Kings obviously satisfied the first component, it doesn't matter whether Gaborik re-signs with us in terms of the draft pick compensation.

Sorry for the trouble but I have yet to find a solid answer on this from the sources I've looked at. Thanks for your legwork.

I appreciate the input, but a few points of contention:

    - there is more than one round in the draft
    - this thread last year featured three of the Kings' picks before they were made (Zykov, Fasching, Bartosak)
    - if I waited till the 28th pick to start a thread about the 29th pick, it would be a very short thread

    Thanks for reading nonetheless!

I don't know if the conditions of the pick were ever revealed; even so, I'm basing the picks off of the TSN website. I'll update it if it changes though
According to nhl.com...our picks are as follows...

    1) 29th
    2) 60th
    3) 63rd (To Columbus - Scrivens for Gaborik basically)
    3) 90th
    4) 120th
    5) 150th
    6) 157th (Westgarth trade)
    6) 180th
    7) 209th (Carcillo trade)
    7) 210th

I think that's right, they wrote in their recent draft article that we have 9 picks including two in each of the last two rounds and 3 in the top 90.

In a way amazing that we have 9 picks in a year where we won the Cup

I'd be really curious if anyone had this info. I would love to know how rare it is for a Cup winner to retain its top draft picks in the subsequent draft. It seems like most playoff teams mortgage the future. It's really crazy that we still have a pick in every round.

The prices this Trade Deadline were
much lower than in years past, save for the Monster Deal that the Blues made. Buffalo also pushed to acquire more picks in 2015 because of the stronger draft.

I think the first round Tiers are going to be after the Top 3, then again after 10-12. At that point, I expect it to get nutty with everyone moving up/back/out of this year.

The pre draft maneuvering with both Kesler and Spezza moving could also spice it up some.
