Not sure Feaster would trade Iggy straight up for Bernier. I think kings would have to throw in a pick but what a piece to add.

Poo slinger says Caps are sniffing around. Bernier for Alzner?
Bouwmeester isn't close to being the type of player who replaces either of those two. He is as soft as they come, has never played a single playoff game and probably never will. He may have skill but he has no grit and questionable hockey sense. This guy screams of a guy who will never win anything.
Let's put it this way, the only way his value will be affected by playing time is if JQ goes down and Bernier gets significant playing time and either plays really well or sucks hard. Otherwise, there's no way he'll get enough playing time to have a big impact on his value, which I assume at this point is going to be something less than a 1st round pick (maybe a journeyman backup and a 3rd or a 4th or a SAH d-man). Of course, I suppose this all depends on how desperately some GM wants to pay for a young guy with a potentially big upside.
e34 teams "very interested" in jonathan bernier
He is softer than you would like a 6'4 220 pound guy to be and I would prefer a right hand shot, but Calgary is about to go through a rebuild and if they take some of the cap space, for what is out there, I would do it.
Besides we are asking him to play 4th or 5th Dman minutes not be a top pairing guy.

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
