I'm pretty sure I made my position clear already.

Loktionov should have his name on the Stanley Cup, not Nancy. Plain and simple.
Westy and Drewiske got their names on the Cup because they were on the NHL roster full time, even if they were healthy scratches most of the time. Yes, Lokti played in more games than the other 2, but he also bounced between Manchester and the Kings. That's why his name didn't get put on the Cup. End of story. As for Phil Anschutz's wife, you could argue about her name being on the Cup till the cows come home.
Of course it's relevant (at least to me). We know for a fact that the team petitioned for DD and Westy -- they wouldn't have their names on the Cup otherwise. Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm curious whether the team petitioned for Lokti and, if so, on what basis the league said no. Or, if the team didn't petition for him, I'd be curious to know why.
Seems to me that's excellent precedent for Lokti. What's the difference between "seventh defenseman" and "thirteenth forward"?
I could come up with at least half a dozen people who, in my subjective opinion, are less worthy, but your question about reasoning makes no sense. If the decision were in my hands, the question would never even come up because I would select the deserving players first -- in this case the 24 players who made it plus Lokti -- and then fill in the remaining 27 spots with non-players. In other words, it wouldn't be an issue of Lokti v. non-player X; it would be an issue of whether non-player X, non-player Y, or non-player Z gets the final spot. Of course, I'm basing this completely on Lokti's role as it is publicly known. Maybe he's an a-hole who never works hard in practice. Maybe, as the list was being prepared, he agent was making threats about jumping to the KHL and not reporting to Manchester if assigned. Those things certainly would influence whether I would petition on his behalf.
wow. just, wow.
This is funny. Loktionov is an AHLer right now. Did not see him do anythign to get his name on the cup.
