Default AEG (Kings) About to Be Sold?

Morning Fix: Super Bowl Ad Music Preview: AEG Bidders; Bertelsmann Selling Assets | Billboard

Goldman Sachs; Guggenheim Partners; and Colony Capital and Qatar Sovereign Fund. A deal could be done as soon as the end of March.

    There goes the enthusiasm.

How the **** can the Guggenheim Partners afford both the dodgers and AEG?!?!??!?!?

Would be fun for them to own the kings though

Ron Burkle sure has his hands full. I just read yesterday how he's trying to buy the Sacramento Kings and keep them from moving to Seattle. And now this.

Guess if he buys AEG then he can build the arena that Phil and Tim had planned with the city of Sacramento (why?), then buy the Sacramento "Kings" and keep them there (why?), preventing Chris Hansen and Seattle from finally bringing basketball and potentially hockey back to the Pacific Northwest. (Bastard)

All of this while he already owns the Penguins. If he buys AEG, then he'd either have to sell the Pens or the Kings (the real ones), as he can't own two NHL franchises.

We want Guggengeim. They are the best bet to operate it as is.

Goldman Sachs would dice it up.

Understatement of the year, Goldman Sachs is a badly run company, that the Kings and us fans want no part off, I dealt with those idiots for 6 months, listening to how they know best, they took a company I was part of the management team of( paid about $700M to much for it) which when we were running it was massively profitable and managed to turn it into a money loser in 3 months flat.

    Guggenheim?
Wow! If they are in the mix Fox Sports will be chitting their pants. Maybe not for another 11 years, but thanks to TWC the local tv deal landscape has changed.

And yet those wankers still probably found a way to innovate some financial product as a result of that acquisition and make more money and pay more seven-figure bonuses to their partners. I know a couple of analysts that work for them in NYC, some of the crap they pull is....incredible to say the least

If Fox would have been more creative and not locked into their ways, they could have had the same deal.

I don't blame the Dodgers in the slightest.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
