Alright so question on jerseys. I am looking at eBay and I see you have to be very careful about buying there (the old "if it appears to good to be true ..."). Can anyone tell me about all the different jersey options out there?? I want to get a sewn together jersey. I have an authentic of the old crown (purple and black - third jersey) with the tie-down strap and all and would like that on the home plate black but I don't want to fork over that kind of cash so I am willing to get a replica but I want sewn, not printed. Should I be looking for a Premier jersey or what? And should I stay away from eBay and just pay for one off a site like IceJerseys?

Go with the Premier jersey, and if you plan on getting it customized, just buy it from Icejerseys and have them do the customization. If you plan on leaving it blank, just go with wherever you can find it cheapest. The Premier jerseys have the sewn on crest, and overall are nice jerseys. I cant remember if the Kings have shoulder patches, but if they do, those will be glued on. The shoulder patches are the only thing I hate about the Premier jerseys.

The authentics are nice, but you will probably have to pay over $200 and the sizing of those are a little strange if your used to the older CCM/Koho/Reebok 6100 style of authentics. The sleeves are very long and the body of the jersey will fit much tighter.

If you have any questions on the authenticity of a jersey on ebay, I know there are several jersey collectors on LGK, myself included, that could steer you the right way if you posted a link.

When they sell stuff like this it really annoys me. Really for a carpet. I am a fan and all but what is it PT Barnum said!!! If they are gong to sell something make it worth while not some old carpet. SMH. Cheezy and desperate move. How about something worth while.
Ummm...if you don't want it, don't bid on it. SOMEONE obviously disagrees with your assessment that this isn't worthwhile and is a "desperate move" because someone bid on it. Personally, I'd LOVE to have it; it's an incredibly unique collector's item that no one else would have; but the opening bid is more than it would be worth to me.

The offer of this lame carpet makes my wonder though.
First of all, season seats started at $30 per game. Hardly an "insane" amount of money. Second, seeing as how the team has almost sold out its supply of season seats, I don't think there's any need to worry about the team tying the Bob/Jim DVD to a season ticket purchase. Third, I'm not sure what the NHL's auction of a one-of-a-kind item to the team's sale of a mass produced DVD.

Thanks. I have seen some player's customized (names, numbers, SC patches, the "A" or "C") on eBay starting at .99. I am just leery of these. jt has had some success with jersey's off eBay so I guess I need to just find the right seller's or just buy off IceJersey's. I would just like to spend as little as possible.

Here is an eBay jersey I was looking at:

There's so many knockoffs nowadays, you gotta be weary. Things to look for: incorrect fonts, larger LA patches on the front than actual size, an RBK tag in the neckline (real ones will say Reebok not RBK), and on crown jerseys, a lot of the knockoffs say LOS ANGELES KINGS at the bottom when the real thing should say just LOS ANGELES. There's more to look for but that's just what I thought of off the top of my head.

The carpet that was used once and only once on the ice to present the Stanley Cup to the championship team, with the Stanley Cup championship logo on it and a certificate of authenticity from the NHL is, "Some old carpet"??? Feel free to share a few of the awesome items you must have that make this carpet seem so lame to you.

Stay away from that jersey. First off, the Reebok logo is inaccurate. The back collar of the 2011/2012 Kings jersey has REEBOK written across the top. That one has the old logo, so at best the year is wrong and it's from the 2010/2011 season. Second, I took a look at his other jerseys for sale, and he has some obvious fakes he is selling. The silver piping looks a little suspicious to me too. Seems a tad too shiny. Maybe someone with a sure legit Kings Premier jersey can chime in as to how shiny that piping should be.

If you were able to get it for .99, then it's probably worth the risk and at worst you have yourself a jersey you can spill beer on without worrying about it. But, I do think that is a fake and wouldn't waste a great deal of cash on that.
