The sale has less to do with the teams than the properties and the entire group. It's really nothing about the Kings, it's about the profile of the teams and properties. You can't get much higher. The business model of most private companies is to sell it at a profit. Low interest rates, check. 1% has the cash, check.
Buy Low, sell high.
Not so sure about that, but with AEG now in play I doubt we will hear a lot about it.
The NFL could not care less what teams and their stadium deals in other cities do, LA is the second largest media market in the country, the money we are talking about dwarfs every other city except New York and Chicago, if LA getting a team means that (just throwing a name out there) Buffalo doesn't get a new stadium, oh well, tough luck Buffalo.
Back on topic.
I have been doing a little research into Phil Anschutz, what I did not know before is that Phil and Mark Cuban are involved in a number of bushiness together, i'm not saying Mark could buy the whole of AEG, but I can certainly see him being part of the deal.
The one person I know that does have the bank roll to take AEG in one piece wouldn't be interested, AEG is to well run, though I have to think his people in New York are running the numbers to see if breaking up the company can bring a higher net worth than keeping it together.
