Thread: Anthony's Arena Analysis : Questions to LGK (Championship Banners/Bragging Rights

Hey All, Just stopping in to ask a couple of questions to the Kings community. You all have answered pretty much every question I've had over the years as I've embraced the game of Hockey and the Kings, so here I am again with 3 Questions for ya! This is all pending if their indeed IS a season.


1. "Banner or BannerS?"

With the Kings winning the Stanley Cup this year, How many Banners will be raised at Staples Center on Opening Night?? Are we getting JUST
The Stanley Cup Champion Banner or will the Western Conference Championship Banner be raised along with it? I wonder because the Lakers have 17 Championship banners but none of their many Conference Championship Banners are raised anywhere in the building. Anyone have a good idea or know how it works for the NHL??



2. "Bragging Rights"

Over the years I've seen the Duck, Red Wings, and BlackHawk fans braggingly bring up their Cup wins when interacting with Kings fans during
games at Staples Center. It's as if winning the cup changes the Fans and the way they carry themselves at games and Arena's all over the Nation.
My question is, Do you think Kings fans will be more aggressive and charismatic towards opposing team fans In and Outside of Staples Center this season and here on out? Or will we remain a humble, clean cut, non-obnoxious fanbase?



3. "Was Last Season Good Enough??"

After years and years of thirsting for the Cup and Winning it, Where are your expectations and wants for the Next season of L.A Kings Hockey (Whenever it happens)??? Some I've talked to say they're set for life, all they wanted to do was see the Kings win at least ONE and now their satisfied. As a fan where do you place your expectations and desires in the next few seasons? Are you set, or wanting more?

I hope it's just the Cup banner.

#1 You'll have to wait and see...

#2 Our "fanbase" have already been pretty obnoxious before we won the cup. So expect something a little worse I guess. Either way though, I hope the visitng fans think twice about invading Staples from now on. I'm talking about the Vancouver, Edmonton, Detroit, Chicago, any east coast team people.

In response to the first question; some teams raise all banners that are applicable for the previous season, and some don't. It really depends on what the team decides to do apparently.

Personally, I plan on talking quite a bit of smack to any opposing team fans that show even the slightest bit of arrogance...Nuck fans in particular. I won't be able to help myself, sue me if you're easily offended by a little competitive banter

1. Just the Cup banner please.

2. Stay classy my friends. An obnoxious fool can be a fan of any team. Don't let one idiot or small group of idiots ruin it for all of us.

3. I would love to see many more championships.

I bet you will get 2 banners the CUP banner will be raised. The West Conf Champ banner will be uncovered.

The fans will be be the same just a bit poorer because ticket have gone up and demand has also gone up. this will also keep some visiting fans away

Last year was NOT enough. I waited 25 Years for this and I am mot willing to wait another 25yrs. I dont think I will have to we are loaded for another run.

I think as a Kings fan you kind of want to relish it and maybe get a bit cocky but then again if you go to an opposing teams arena its their fans who will probobally do a bit more hassling..I just vividly remember Dodger Stadium Opening day and the Giants played us and the tension in the air was there from the get go.I think the expectations this season if its played will be very high.Same team no reason the Kings can't do it again

I'm fairly certain you will see more obnoxious fans now that the team has won the cup. Going 45 years without was the only thing keeping the fan base remotely humble.
