I was in for the 1400 hour. Showed up at 1355 and walked right in. I had maybe 5 people in front of me. I finally got to touch the Cup. I set my bag and helmet down, camera man told me it was in the shot, so I moved it, took my picture, and that was it. Took less than 5 minutes.

I did get to witness a near-altercation between a group and some staffer. Didn't really care to listen as I was taking advantage of the free water & airconditioning and watching the DVD that was playing, but I did hear the guy yell "We're paying your salary!" and the employee saying "Everyone is getting treated the same here." So that was awesome.

Jay did say that the link to the photos can be found by going to http://www.lakings.com/cupevent, but they'll be up in 48 hours. There was also a sheet of paper with some long Photobucket URL that I didn't care to copy down.

    This shoot needed moar CHAZ!
This is a good point. They should have hired CHAZ for something like this. Chaz is not only cool but a way better photographer.

I had the 12:00. The line for the picture went fast but the line to purchase the photo, book, frames and merchandise went VERY slow. Was anyone with the 12:00 still there when the chick wearing the Blackhawks jersey caused a fury?

What type of merchandise? Did they have jerseys back in stock? Preferably with the Finals patch?

Only saw T-shirts for the most part. Then again, didn't care to look since I wasn't interested in buying anything yesterday.

For people that went yesterday: Is the next group away from the shooting area?
What I would like to do is pack my camera and stuff, and in between groups squeeze in my own picture of the cup by itself. Would that be possible?

I chose the October date, and trained myself to wait the extra month. I am hoping most everyone chose yesterday.

The next date is in Carson in Oct. You stand in line and then the cup is up on the stage. Once you go on stage (small line) you are not allowed to even have your camera out. So I do not think this is possible, but you never know. You could bring it and see what happens.

I figured this was it with the cup and I may not get this opportunity again, so I decided to just live the moment. I hugged it and kissed it and tried to see the names and pretty much had to be told to leave. LOL. whatever. IT WAS INCREDIBLE and I felt very honored to touch it.

Maybe because it is 7:45 in the morning, I don't quite understand this question.

I brought my digital camera. They had a lot of staff members there and were extremely strict about it. At least for my group. People who pulled out the camera got yelled at immediately. There are a bunch of people who are daring that ignored the staff and took some pictures anyway. Are you one of those people?

The lines went really fast. You pretty much step up to Lord Stanley and the photographer will just snap a picture without a care in the world. It's kind of unfortunate because the photographer doesn't care if the picture comes out bad or not... =\ (This is why you probably heard people mention Chaz in this thread. He did it for free and he did it right.)

Anyway, right after the picture we were pretty much shooed away so the people next in line can take a picture with it. All I did was get to touch the cup for 10 seconds. I didn't even get a chance to read one single name on the cup. It was just a fun little event really. "Better than nothing" is what I'm telling myself.

Went with my STH pal and our wives and we had a great time. Sure the lines were long, but nothing more than what you might encounter at Disneyland. Jay Flats and the Ice Crew were there to keep people entertained - I won a rally towel from Game 3 of the Western Conf Finals.

Free sodas, and pricey beer were available, but most people didn't bother.

The line once you get inside:

Once you get onto the stage, you quickly take a pic with the Cup, and you can either loiter around in front of the stage, or you can go off stage left and order photos/book.

The usher on the right moved everyone along, and even held everyone's bags/purses for them. He did say that personal cameras/phones weren't allowed on stage:

There were no restrictions on taking photos with cell phones once you were off the stage!
